Custom Mod pushes sales |
|

A strange thing is happening, ArmA:2 is currently number one seller on Steam. Why should a two year old game that was never a big seller be selling in high numbers? It's all because of a user made mod that is filling servers around the world. The mod is called DayZ and it's a brutal zombie survival RPG running on ArmA:2.
What makes it brutal is that it is totally unforgiving and fills you with terror. How would you feel alone hungry and poorly armed. Trust is a big element to the game because it's easer to kill and steal from other players than to find food and supply's. Seeing another player you are faced with the dilemma, are they friendly, or will they kill you for your supplies? It's incredibly immersive...

Multiplayer
Treyarch started the multiplayer mode from scratch and checked what should kept and what should be tossed away from the old games and entirely rebuild it into a new concept. The multiplayer mode will be still in the year of 2025 with high tech weapons and various of elements from the single player.
They wanted to make it more compatible for eSports and Treyarch visited various of developers to find out to make the multiplayer mode more comprehensive. The one size fits all idea has been entirely scratched were people are able to spectate (such idea as HLTV) and players should be no longer be mixed with too high levels etc.
There will be various of play styles for CoD Fanatics, like strike packages are more focused on classes such as ‘Medic’ ‘Engineer’ ‘Soldier’ ‘Sniper’ etc.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's second DLC collection, due out later this month, includes a new multiplayer mode called Face-Off, developer Infinity Ward has announced.
It's a one-on-one or two-on-two deathmatch mode featuring four brand new maps custom built for more intimate combat.
The first two stages will be available for free to all Xbox 360 players from 15th May, with a PC and PlayStation 3 roll-out to follow. Aground is set on a shipwreck off the coast of Scotland, while Erosion sees you running around Roman ruins in Italy while Mount Vesuvius erupts in the background.
Two more maps will then follow on 22nd May (again, it's a timed Xbox 360 exclusive) as part of the main DLC Collection 2 release. Getaway plays out in a beachside mansion in Brazil, while Lookout is set in a forward observation post in Afghanistan.
"Normally in itself one-on-one isn't... [Read More]
